11 Movie Sequels That Sucked

There's nothing worse than looking forward to a sequel and then realizing you did nothing but waste two hours of your life that you won't get back. So take 2 minutes to read our list and save yourself hours of misery.

Dumb and Dumberer

Dumb and Dumberer

There's a good reason why this movie never plays on network TV. It really stinks. What do you expect when you replace your two main characters with two main wannabees. This movie is not memorable, and not worth two hours of your life.

Son of the Mask

Son of the Mask

The Mask was a huge hit, the sequel failed to capitalize on its success. One big reason, no Jim Carey.

2 Fast 2 Furious

2 Fast 2 Furious

Fast and Furious is a cult movie. The sequel almost ruined the entire franchise. Replacing Vin Diesel's character with Tyrese Gibson's annoying character probably had a lot to do with it.

Home Alone 2: Lost in New York

Home Alone 2: Lost in New York

Riding off the success of its predecessor, Home Alone 2 was more of the same. Most of the original characters returned for this sequel, but the problem was it felt like a rip off of the first movie. Seriously, how has this kid not been taken by child services.

Annabelle

Annabelle

Annabelle is the prequel of The Conjuring. Technically this isn't a sequel, but it sucks and I wanted to make that clear so you can save two hours of your precious time. The Conjuring was a terrific horror movie that had you on the edge of your seat. Annabelle had no real character development or attachment and came off like a traditional cheesy horror flick.

The Matrix Reloaded

The Matrix Reloaded

The Matrix Reloaded is a classic example of how Hollywood ruins franchises. The original Matrix was nothing short of revolutionary. The story line was complex and original which is always refreshing. The series of sequels that followed the original all felt like they were really reaching to come up with a decent plot.

Anchorman 2

Anchorman 2

Anchorman 2 was hyped up so much is was destined to fail. You can only watch so many promotions before you get sick of hearing about it. What really sucks about Anchorman 2 was the fact it just reformatted the original jokes. Anchorman 2 was so horrible I had to stop watching it half way through the movie.

Speed 2: Cruise Control

Speed 2: Cruise Control

Perhaps the worst sequel in the history of film. Watching Speed 2 should be used in interrogation rooms to make people talk. I literally have nothing positive to say about this movie. From start to finish, it's torture.

Batman Forever

Batman Forever

Batman Forever ruined the Batman franchise for over a decade. Christopher Nolan later rebooted the series with Batman Begins which saved the franchise. One of the big problems with this movie was that it had too many villains which in effect watered them all down. A superhero movie is only as good as the villain. The dialog between the characters was also horrible, everything was a one liner.

22 Jump Street

22 Jump Street

Although it scored decent reviews. This movie is more of the same from the original which was both clever and hysterical. When I watched the original, I laughed so much by the end of the movie my face hurt. 22 Jump Street failed to deliver, it just seemed too similar to the first.

Scream 2

Scream 2

The original was a traditional teen slasher movie. The sequels to follow more or less resemble that juice on the bottom of your trash can.
